Undergravel filter systems are biological aquarium filters that utilise your gravel as your filtration medium. The entire gravel bed becomes a filter medium for hosting the bacteria needed to breakdown fish waste making it a very compact, efficient and effective filter.

How does an undergravel filtration system work?
The plates assemble together and sit underneath the gravel.
The uplift tube(s) connect to the plates and rise up to the water surface.
The filter system is run using either a traditional air pump or power-head water pump. (not included)
Depending on the type of fish you are keeping, uplift tubes can be fitted with simple air stones that provide slower water current, or power-head water pumps that provide a strong current.
The entire gravel bed becomes a filter with the aquarium water being drawn through the gravel and back into the aquarium creating a very unique complete filter cycle.
