Spooky Halloween Sprinkle Cookies

Make spooky halloween sprinkle cookies using our range of fun baking supplies. Get the kids to create their own monsters with spooky icing and halloween themed sprinkles and hand them out to hungry trick or treaters!

Ingredients:
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • Halloween-themed sprinkles
  • Optional: coloured gel icing for decorating
How long:
  • Mixing and shaping the cookie dough: about 20-30 minutes
  • Baking time: 9-11 minutes per batch
  • Cooling and decorating: about 20-30 mins
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Combine Dry Ingredients:

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.

3. Cream the Butter and Sugars:

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and well combined.

4. Add Eggs:

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition until the mixture is smooth.

5. Incorporate Dry Ingredients:

Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

6. Add Sprinkles:

Gently fold in Halloween-themed sprinkles into the cookie dough. The sprinkles will add a festive touch and a burst of colour to your cookies.

7. Shape the Cookies:

Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving some space between each cookie.

8. Bake the Cookies:

Place the baking sheets in the preheated oven and bake for about 9-11 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges. Keep an eye on them to prevent overbaking.

9. Decorate with Candy Eyes:

As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, press candy eyeballs gently into the centre of each cookie. This will give your cookies a fun and spooky appearance.

10. Cool and Decorate:

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, you can also use coloured gel icing to add additional decorations, such as spiderwebs, bats, or other Halloween designs.
